What a brilliant time my dog ‘‘Spirit’ (FanMatrix Striking Saphire) and I had that wet, cold, stormy November day. We were up at the crack of dawn and out by 7am picked up a friend, Jan and her dog, Jade and off to Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, for our first experience of field training and with the experts. The weather tried its best to put a damper on us but to no avail, we were dressed for everything the day could possible bring us, packed lunch and hot drinks we, the dogs & us were prepared and had a great time. We walked what seemed miles over the rough ground, getting our dogs to do their thing. They were a joy to watch so full of it and so alert even when just watching another dog working, you swear they were watching to learn and taking it all in. Learnt a lot, We, me & Spirit, are really looking forward to the next event.
